Wow guys, every year I look on here as camp gets closer and the memories come flooding back. I envy this years staff and urge you all to hold the memories with you, they truly will last a lifetime. For those who don't remember I was on staff in 86',and 87' in the dining hall and 88' as the archery director and was supposed to come back for 89' until i went and got married. Ill try and make a appearance this year, I really miss the place and hopefully one day one of my children will be a camper and maybe staff and carry on the tradition for me.

wow, apparently I have some kind of psychic connection o know when I'm being talked about, it just runs on a two-hour delay. I've already finished school, and now I have to do math?? Geez, gimme a minute.

There are 58 days, or about 1392 hours, or approximately 83,548 minutes, or something like 5,012,900 seconds until the 2008 Opening Day of Chief Logan Reservation!

I cheated a little...

Hello yall, maybe I can get some help I recieved an email stating that any suggestions for this years council camporee please respond, well I had a scout right downHave YOU been to a camporee here? How many Scoutmasters and adult leaders have given you this feedback? Who are they and what years did they attend? You said one young man got to Life and quit because of a Camporee…come on, if he quit at that point there was something else going on too (I don’t want to be rude either, but pull your head out!). In fact, we have asked Scouts and we get very different answers from various ages…it comes in all over the board from we want NO BASIC Scoutcraft (we’re tired of Fire Building, map and compass events, and first aid because that’s what we do EVERY time) to let’s have a Camporee theme where we back pack or have a living history Camporee, etc. We have some troops who believe in wearing uniforms and some who don’t. And you’re right about the Cubs being a different subject… We just spent about 500,000 on BOY SCOUT camp improvements this past year and we still don’t have a separate Cub Scout Camp (like most larger councils with $$$ do). So, “Mr, Hoorah”, do you want to be part of the solution and be on the Camporee staff or do you want to keep shooting a lot of e-mail back and forth without doing all of your homework? Take care! some suggestions, this council down here is hurting they are big on cub scouts but lack the attention towards Boy scouts, so here's his response when I said the scouts don't need the fireworks that most of the money is going towards they want competition in the skills they practice. here's his response(

Tim That's great and I wish you the best with the new troop. Start them out right and bring them to CLR next summer for camp. Once they get a taste of the magic of our valley they will be hooked for life. We have lots of pictures of CLR at www.t48bsa.org so you can show them what it is all about. YIS

How's Everyone doing? I am in the process of Starting a brand new Troop. Down Here Scouting is not like in Ohio they are more into Cub Scouts, Until I came here(lol)We have 20 Troops In this little town but they are slowly dying off, their Camporees are merit Badge weekends. The positive thing it's a beautiful area to have a troop, check out our troop 1438(lot of numbers,ey takes up the whole sleeve) www.outdoorstride.net!

Live the Code! In the past few weeks the skills learned at camp have paid off outside of CLR. I spent a night backpacking and it was the shortest backpacking trip I've ever been on(in the woods at 2:30 on day and out by 8:30 the next morning). I was so thankful to be able to track the groups I was following. Always remember to live the Code, Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Chief Logan now officially has a new Ranger.....So everyone put their hands together and welcome Kerry Campbell as the new CLR Ranger. Kerry had been working hard as the temporary ranger since the spot became open. Camp is looking pretty goood now but there is always more to do. If you would like to make camp better for you and your troops, one of the best ways is through the Properties committee. The Properties committee meets monthy on the third Tuesday of each month at the camp at 7pm. They also do a fundraiser each year, run the campmaster program and do multiple work projects. As of right now there are about 5-8 active properties members. Imagine how much could be done if we had 20,30.40+++. It'd be incredible. So if you have the time and want to help out give me an email or call the Camp. (eagleprinting@yahoo.com) Camp # is 740.702.2272 Brian "Radar"Dalton email,,,,,Kerry Campbell camp #

Doug Glad you had a great experience at CLR and hope you come back often. I was there week one but also back each Sunday evening the rest of the summer to promote troops working on camp site projects. My parents lost me to camp CLR in the early 70's and we lost our youngest son the same way a few years back. There is a magic in that valley that is hard to describe to some one who has never been to CLR and the more you are involved the stronger that magic becomes. At least part of it is that Friends really are, "Friends Forever". YIS
