CLR Guestbook!
Tomorrow starts week 6 (last) of the CLR 2008 summer camp season. Most of our older Scouts were on a 105 mile trek at Philmont when T48 went to CLR during week one so we are headed back. We wanted to give all of our Scouts the opportunity to attend camp and we have 5 Scouts (including 3 first year campers) going back for a second week. I can't think of a higher compliment to the camp, staff and program than to have Scouts want to come back for a second week. I know that week 6 will be just as awesome as the first 5 have been. We plan to have daily post to the Troop's blog from camp of what is happening so keep track of us at: www.t48bsa.org
Also Staff Alumni don't forget the last Friday gathering on the 25th. Come early, check out the camp and then stay for the campfire, bring the family. Free supper at the shelter house starting around 5 pm. RSVP Brian Dalton at: eagleprinting@yahoo.com More info at: http://www.clralumni.org
Hope to see yalllll at camp!!! Dan Moore Jackson, Ohio USA July 19, 2008 10:10:38 AM

But to sum things up:
Kerry and crew had the camp in Great shape!ve
Martha and Jeff have the staff in Great shape!

The new dining hall is doing great even if the contractor still has a few punch list items to finish!
I guess you can say things are just plain normal at CLR again "GREAT"!!!!!

Hey all you Bobcat Alumni out there!!! Did y'all see our very own Sam Eliason FEATURED as an Ohio University graduate to watch in the Ohio Today alumni magazine that just came out?
Here's what it says...
" He's an active Eagle Scout. He helped write the College of Engineering's news honor code. He drummed for the Marching 110 and leared that teamwork can breed strong leaders. And after his ROTC commitment -- which he calls a minor in leadership without the credit --he'll serve as an Air Force second lieutenant, updating software to ensure aircraft survivability. (DANG)
Sam says, "Everything you do influences the world somehow."
Steady. That's what Sam Eliason does."
There is a cool and unique picture of him featured too! Congrats Sam! That's awesome and we are proud of you! Don't forget to take a bottle of SKI with you as you travel the world!

Hello yall, maybe I can get some help I recieved an email stating that any suggestions for this years council camporee please respond, well I had a scout right downHave YOU been to a camporee here?
How many Scoutmasters and adult leaders have given you this feedback? Who are they and what years did they attend?
You said one young man got to Life and quit because of a Camporee…come on, if he quit at that point there was something else going on too (I don’t want to be rude either, but pull your head out!). In fact, we have asked Scouts and we get very different answers from various ages…it comes in all over the board from we want NO BASIC Scoutcraft (we’re tired of Fire Building, map and compass events, and first aid because that’s what we do EVERY time) to let’s have a Camporee theme where we back pack or have a living history Camporee, etc. We have some troops who believe in wearing uniforms and some who don’t.
And you’re right about the Cubs being a different subject… We just spent about 500,000 on BOY SCOUT camp improvements this past year and we still don’t have a separate Cub Scout Camp (like most larger councils with $$$ do).
So, “Mr, Hoorah”, do you want to be part of the solution and be on the Camporee staff or do you want to keep shooting a lot of e-mail back and forth without doing all of your homework?
Take care!
some suggestions, this council down here is hurting they are big on cub scouts but lack the attention towards Boy scouts, so here's his response when I said the scouts don't need the fireworks that most of the money is going towards they want competition in the skills they practice. here's his response( Timothy Harvey Jacksonville, nc USA October 20, 2007 7:46:32 PM

That's great and I wish you the best with the new troop. Start them out right and bring them to CLR next summer for camp. Once they get a taste of the magic of our valley they will be hooked for life. We have lots of pictures of CLR at www.t48bsa.org so you can show them what it is all about.

How's Everyone doing? I am in the process of Starting a brand new Troop. Down Here Scouting is not like in Ohio they are more into Cub Scouts, Until I came here(lol)We have 20 Troops In this little town but they are slowly dying off, their Camporees are merit Badge weekends. The positive thing it's a beautiful area to have a troop, check out our troop 1438(lot of numbers,ey takes up the whole sleeve) www.outdoorstride.net! I would like to thank Kerry for helping our Lodge hold a great ordeal at CLR he made sure we had plenty of sevice projects and we made progress Dwann Allen Columbus, Ohio United States September 13, 2007 2:19:29 PM
Live the Code! In the past few weeks the skills learned at camp have paid off outside of CLR. I spent a night backpacking and it was the shortest backpacking trip I've ever been on(in the woods at 2:30 on day and out by 8:30 the next morning). I was so thankful to be able to track the groups I was following. Always remember to live the Code, Grrrrrrrrrrr! James Guthrie Chillicothe, OH USA September 11, 2007 4:25:43 PM
